To the Honorable Former Govenor Anibal Acevedo Vila, I am a close friend of Dra. Fanny Marie Garraton Martin. We recently read an article about you in the Friday, May 29, 2009 edition of the "Puerto Rico Daily Sun," and it occurred to me that you may be of assistance to my non-profit agency: VCA. We exist to raise funds for arts and sports programs, new and existing, as a means of addressing the social problems with Viequense youth. We are already in the process of forming a Pasa Fino Polo league. Private funding on the island has proved nearly impossible as our tourism season was quite low this season. All donations are tax deductible. We seek to raise $320,000. The funds will rehabilitate an historical building in Isabelle II, provide annual salaries for 5, allowing us to raise additional funds through grantwriting.
